Dear DaySpringers,

Hello all, I have a few bits of important information about the upcoming weeks to share with you. As always we will continue to post updates in the weekly newsletter, on, and through social media.

First, I hope to get to see you on Saturday for DaySpring’s Greatest Show on Facebook Live (click HERE for the link to watch). Madi’s worked hard to put this together and it’s going to be fun. So get your contribution in to Madi if you haven’t done so and get your popcorn ready for 7 pm Saturday night. It will be the best entertainment in town.

Second, I also hope to get to see you Sunday. Last Sunday we premiered our first  From Pulpit to Porch meeting from 11:30-12ish. It was great. Thanks to everyone who showed up. This Sunday we’ll do it again . . .some reflection on Sunday’s lectionary texts, prayer together, and a chance to see one another’s smiling faces. Join us.

Third, I hope to get to see you in person soon. Our intention is to start meeting on Sunday, June 7, at 9 am for in-person worship services outside under the oak grove between the sanctuary and the old water tower. We’ll have much more information to come about how we’ll plan to meet in person. I can say this today: it’s really beautiful under the canopy of those trees. This will be a sweet experience for everyone who’s able to join us. For those who are not able to come in person, we intend to live-stream the service online. More information will come about all of this. I, for one, am already counting down the days.

Fourth, on Saturday, May 23, join us for "Take Two,” a DaySpring workday. We’ll prepare the grounds for worship, so some needed cleaning, and tend to a few others things around here that are needed. Take 2 is an invitation to take two hours (9-11 am) to help out around the church. We’ll practice safe social distancing while we do some good work.

Fifth, and finally, on Sunday, May 31, the Church Council is calling a Church Zoom Meeting to consider a recommendation from the Search Committee for our Minister to Children and Families. The Search Committee will present the candidate and invite time for Q&A. Then we will vote on the recommendation. Also at this meeting we will discuss plans for the June 7 return to in-person worship.

As you can see, there is a lot of exciting things coming up. To these we want to add our congratulations to students finishing the semester and particularly to those who are graduating. We are so very proud of you!

God’s peace to you all.
