Dear DaySpringers,

This morning at 11, I shared a lively, helpful discussion with a large group of Really Something’s about summer plans to meet for in person worship and live stream our service. This afternoon at 5 on Zoom (Click HERE for the meeting), everyone is welcome to meet for a similar discussion. I’ll share with you how we’re thinking about things and invite your feedback, questions, and ideas.

This Saturday, we invite everyone who is able to take two hours to do some good work around the DaySpring campus. We have 10 areas of work to do around the church and leaders ready to greet you and point you in the right direction. The fun starts at 9 am this Saturday. Water bottles will be provided, but we’d like to encourage everyone to bring your own. When you arrive, please first check in at the Welcome Table at the front door of the sanctuary. Bring a picnic if you would like to stay to enjoy the grounds when the work is done. Parents of children, as you consider this invitation, please be mindful of how your children will observe social distancing at work and picnic. It will be tough on all of us, especially for the kids.

Here’s the areas we’re planning to work and the leaders for each area:

  • Oak Grove Clean Up: Randy Cox
  • Sanctuary Prep: Candy Neugebauer
  • Wifi Trench and Sound Closet:  Brent Harris
  • Garden Beds: Susan Perdue
  • Baptistry Prep: Ken Cunningham
  • Tree Trimming/ Trail Mowing: Barry Hankins
  • Francis Tree Wedding Prep: Joe Bennett
  • Crushed Granite Path work: Joe Giles
  • Veggie Beds: Samuel Moore

If you have any of these tools, please bring them, though we have tools to share:

Forked rake
weed eater
Pick ax

Much of this work is in service to our hopes for worship this summer outside under the canopy of the beautiful oak grove. Peace to you. Hope to see you Saturday,
