At DaySpring, we are intentional about formation in Christ through classes, small groups, and retreats.
Though being reconciled with God does not depend on one's efforts, one's spiritual formation into the image and likeness of Christ does, at least in part. Jesus said that the spiritual road is a "hard road." It requires effort, but it leads to life. As we participate in formative practices with an open heart, God acts and we are transformed.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God-what is good and acceptable and perfect." -Romans 12:2
Sunday Morning Formation Classes
Our Sunday Morning, Spiritual Formation classes are part of the teaching ministry of the church. Classes meet together on Sundays at 9:45 AM throughout different parts of the church campus. A group Bible study meets in the Sanctuary. We have a Bible study over scriptures for the morning worship service in our “Lectionary Breakfast” located in the church offices. In our chapel, our Christian Living class focuses on topics of spiritual formation and theology. Childcare and children’s spiritual formation classes are also available during this time. Contact us for more information.
Life Together Groups
Life Together Groups meet both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. These are small groups that meet weekly or bi-weekly for accountability, prayer, study and community. These groups allow for deeper relationships to develop through Bible study, reading a book together or sharing in litany and worship. Groups vary in membership from all women to all men, from intergenerational to age-specific groups. If you would like to join a group, click the button below to let us know.
Wednesday evening Formation group
On Wednesdays at 6:30 PM an Adult Formation Group meets in Pastor Eric’s study to reflect on scripture or another spiritual reading. Check our Church Calendar to stay up to date with the group.
On Fridays at 8:00 AM there is a Lectionary Breakfast. This group meets at Our Breakfast Place (formally the The Egg and I) to discuss the upcoming lectionary texts for Sunday. The conversation usually focuses on the text Pastor Eric will use for his sermon. All are welcome.
DaySpring also offers Spiritual Direction and Guidance to small groups or one-on-one to meet for prayer, discernment and listening to Scripture.
DaySpring is committed to providing our members opportunities to retreat in intentional time and space for spiritual reflection and renewal. Each year we plan and host a two-night women's retreat, a two-night men's retreat and a half-day silent retreat. Each retreat has its own intention, time and structure. Check out our church calendar to see when the next retreat is coming up.
Join us in the choir! In the middle of your busy week, choir can become a place of rest and renewal. As we sing and rehearse it has become a spiritual practice of allowing our work to be our worship to God. We pause for prayer and invite God into our worship preparation and we invite you to join us -- strong voices and less developed ones alike. Join us for this mid-week pause.
Choir practice is at 7:00 pm on Wednesdays in the chapel. Everyone is welcome to join this singing community. For childcare needs, please contact Jo Anne Beaty at
