The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.
Psalm 24: 1-2
It is our hope to learn to see the ground under our feet as God’s gift, our responsibility, and a place to begin to heal the rifts between humans and the rest of creation.

Just as renewal begins where you already are, care for creation begins in the place we already love.
God's Grandeur
The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.
And for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs —
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

“The Whole Wide World in His Hands: All Creation Matters in our Life With God”
Genesis 1 and Colossians 1:16
This week, we will explore creation theologically and biblically, asking questions like:
How are we, as Christians, supposed to think about the created world?
What does creation have to teach us about the God we worship?
What does creation teach us about what it means to be human beings
made in the image of this God?

“We’ve Got a Whole World in Our Bodies: How Microbes Make Us Human"
Genesis 2:4-9, 15-17
This week, we will learn about the many ways that our lives are made possible by the trillions of microbial organisms living inside of us. We will consider together how our microbes bear witness to the same reality as the creation account in Genesis 2: that we are dependent ecological creatures woven into God’s interconnected creation.

“He’s Got You and Me Brother and Sister In His Hands: The Cry of the Earth is the Cry of the Poor.”
Amos 5:24
This week, we will contemplate connections between racial and ecological justice. We learn from scripture and contemporary Christian leaders and congregations how righteous care of earth and neighbor require both. We find examples of courage that give hope at the convergence of current environmental crises and the crisis of belonging in the modern world.
